1. WEST LOOP GATE
The West Loop Gate area was named as number one by Zillow in their Top 5 List of places to live in Chicago in 2016 based on the fact that forecasted home value growth showed a 6.3% increase in home values this year. We love West Loop Gate because, as the Eastern-most portion of the West Loop, it’s growing up in amazing numbers. This neighborhood is in very high demand and is getting pricier by the minute, but that’s only because it’s getting better by the moment too! Get this real estate while it’s hot!
2. SOUTH LOOP
South Loop’s home value growth was forecasted at 5.8% in 2016. There are tons of attractions and historical landmarks in this area, with very unique architecture. Not to mention living in South Loop you have unfettered access to Grant Park, with Taste of Chicago, Blues Fest, and Lollapalooza being hosted there each year. There are great restaurants, clubs, and theaters, as well as McCormick Place and other attractions that make South Loop one of the most attractive places to live in 2016.
3. PILL HILL
Pill Hill was named after the large amount of doctors employed at the nearby South Chicago Community Hospital. The home prices there are forecasted to grow in value by 5% this year. Located in Calumet Heights, blue collar workers moved out in the ‘70s, making room for white collar young professionals and the neighborhood has been growing and improving ever since.
4. TIE: BUDLONG WOODS & BELMONT TERRACE
Budlong Woods and Belmont Terrace tied for fourth place on Zillow’s list, both predicting growth in home values of 4.9% in 2016. Budlong Heights, built on the old Budlong Pickle farm, is rich in culture with lots of families and ethnic influence. Belmont Terrace is home to the Brickyard Shopping Mall with lots of reinvestment in the neighborhoods and building up the economy.
5. GAGE PARK
Gage Park ranked in 5th place on Zillow’s list because of its forecasted home value increase of 4.6% during 2016. This cultural neighborhood is full of authentic Mexican restaurants and long-established bungalow-style architecture.
